LOWELL, Arkansas – CRI has served as the headquarters for the Northwest Arkansas donation center for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots foundation over the past few years. Donation efforts for this year’s event totaled 12,403 toys and were distributed among 6,277 children throughout Benton and Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas during the 2013 holiday season.
CRI employees participated in a coin collection contest—of which all proceeds helped purchase toys for the Toys for Tots foundation—in early October 2013. Each department within the company headquarters competed against each other to collect the heaviest amount of coins. Overall, the competition raised 514.6 pounds and donations totaled $915.20. CRI received a letter from the President and CEO of the Marine Corps Foundation, retired Lt. Gen. H.P. Osman, thanking CRI employees for their generosity.
CRI employees hosted and took part in the first Annual Toys for Tots 5K and 1K Run-Walk— of which all proceeds helped purchase toys for the Toys for Tots foundation— in October 2013. The race was held at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade and required a $25 registration fee or a $15 registration fee with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. All proceeds from the race went towards the purchase of toys for the foundation.
Various organizations within the community submit requests for toys and every one of these orders were fulfilled. The foundation even had a small amount of toys left over, which will give them a head start next year. CRI is proud to support the Toys for Tots foundation and its mission to bring the magic of Christmas to less fortunate children in the community.
