The road to a digital future

Digital transformation has become more and more imperative in governmental processes as the government continues to stress the urgency to modernize ways to effectively deliver on a broad range of agency missions.

One of those is a 2019 directive outlined by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) that guides how records are managed.

While the benefits of migrating to electronic recordkeeping cannot be disputed, achieving NARA’s ambitious plans for 2024 may seem out of reach for many agencies and departments.

The challenge is moving to an electronic record environment while still being responsive to current volumes and archiving older records in a digital environment. Lack of available existing technologies throughout government, sufficient skilled personnel and budgetary restraints are just a few reasons why many federal and state departments are entering into strategic partnerships with experienced digital records outsourcing partners like CRI.

Improve operational efficiency through digital transformation

Advanced modern technology enables government agencies to transform operations with automation. Reducing or eliminating manual work within operations allows your department to accelerate record processing time and cut costs. There is no dispute in the value of digitizing records, the challenge is how and how soon this can be achieved.

For the past 20 years, CRI has supported various state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Small Business Administration, by providing cost-effective records management solutions.

SUCCESS STORIES

Digitizing and processing customer requests for the U.S. Department of Education (ED)

As a prime contractor supporting the Department of Education, CRI employed a system to convert all non-verbal communications to a digital environment. Paper records and electronic email records were digitized allowing a timely response to the customer while capturing data and associating that information into customer’s historical record. This process of automating the receipt of documentation significantly reduced the resources previously required for manual processes.
